Terms of Service

1. Eligibility & accounts

dentfol.io is intended for licensed dental professionals aged 18 or older. You may sign up with an email and password or with Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account, and you agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

2. Your content & the license you grant us

You retain all ownership of the content you add to dentfol.io — your bio, credentials, photos, case captions, practice details, and everything else ("Your Content"). We claim no ownership of it.

To operate the service, you grant dentfol.io a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting and display), and publicly display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating the service and showing the pages you choose to publish. This license exists only so we can display your page; it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already cached or indexed by third parties (such as search engines) outside our control, and backup copies that age out on our normal cycle.

3. Your representations about Your Content

By uploading or publishing content, you represent and warrant that:

• You own Your Content or have all rights and permissions necessary to post and publish it.
• Case photographs show your own work, are materially unaltered, and may be used with the permission of any photographer, practice, employer, patient, or other rights holder whose permission is required.
• For any patient photographs, they are either fully de-identified or covered by a valid, signed patient marketing authorization that you hold, and your attestation to that effect is truthful.
• Your Content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
• Your credentials, licenses, and professional claims are accurate and current.
• You will promptly unpublish content if a required authorization is revoked or you learn that a claim is no longer accurate.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use dentfol.io to:

• Publish false, forged, or misrepresented credentials, licenses, degrees, or affiliations.
• Make false, misleading, or unsubstantiated clinical or advertising claims, including guarantees of treatment outcomes.
• Submit clinical notes, appointment reasons, or other patient-identifiable information through text fields; publish photographs without the required privacy rights and authorization; or otherwise violate HIPAA or your state dental board's advertising and professional-conduct rules.
• Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes third-party rights.
• Impersonate another person or professional, or misrepresent your relationship with a practice.
• Attempt to breach, reverse engineer, overload, or disrupt the platform's security or infrastructure.

You are responsible for ensuring your published page complies with all laws and professional rules that apply to you, including advertising rules in every jurisdiction where you are licensed.

Credential and license links

License numbers, credentials, and verification URLs are supplied by the dentist unless dentfol.io expressly says otherwise. An outbound state-board or issuing-organization link is informational; it is not a dentfol.io endorsement, a guarantee of current standing, or a statement about competence or disciplinary history. Visitors should confirm current status with the issuing authority. dentfol.io is not affiliated with or endorsed by any dental board and may request proof, remove a claim, or suspend a profile when information appears inaccurate.

Where dentfol.io displays a verification label, it means only that dentfol.io completed the specific identity, registry, license, and practice-control checks described with that label as of the displayed date. It is not a statement about clinical competence, outcomes, disciplinary history, insurance participation, or continuing good standing. dentfol.io may require re-verification and may suspend verification or publication when information changes, a profile is disputed, or verification can no longer be confirmed.

5. Professional information, not medical advice

Profile pages on dentfol.io are professional and marketing information about dentists. They are not medical or dental advice, and nothing on the platform creates a dentist–patient relationship. Calling a dentist through a page does not establish care or confirm an appointment; a professional relationship begins only when the dentist and patient agree to it directly, offline. dentfol.io is not a party to any relationship or arrangement between a dentist and a patient.

6. Subscriptions & payments

You may create a private draft account, but an active paid Pro subscription is required to publish and keep a dentist page live. Pro is currently $14.99 USD per month or $149 USD per year, plus any taxes shown at checkout. Your subscription renews automatically at the selected monthly or annual interval until canceled, and you authorize the recurring charge. The price, renewal interval, and features shown at checkout govern a purchase. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, and are also subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms. You may cancel from the customer billing portal linked in Settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; no further renewal is charged, and access continues until then. At the end of the paid period, the public page is unpublished while account content remains available subject to our retention policy. Except where law requires otherwise, partial periods are not prorated and refunds are handled under the policy displayed by Lemon Squeezy. We may change pricing prospectively with advance notice to existing subscribers.

7. Call-to-book features

dentfol.io provides a telephone link that calls the practice directly. dentfol.io does not record, monitor, or transcribe the call and does not collect the caller's name, contact details, appointment reason, or call contents. We store limited conversion events indicating that the call button was selected and, if the visitor answers an optional prompt, whether the visitor reports booking. These signals are estimates, not confirmed appointments. The feature is not for emergencies and does not replace the practice's scheduling system.

8. AI-assisted features

AI-assisted drafting and compliance flags may be incomplete or incorrect. They are editing aids, not legal, clinical, or regulatory advice. You must review every output before saving or publishing it and remain responsible for the accuracy, privacy, and legality of your page.

The AI Headshot Studio edits a source photograph you provide. You may use it only with a photograph depicting you that you own or have permission to use, and you must not submit a patient photograph. AI image edits can change facial, clothing, or background details. You must confirm that the result remains a truthful likeness, contains no invented credential, affiliation, or specialty claim, and is appropriate for professional use before applying or publishing it.

9. Termination

You may stop using dentfol.io and delete your account at any time from account settings; deletion permanently removes your profile data and uploaded photos. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that create legal or compliance risk, or as required by law. We may also discontinue features or the service with reasonable notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content representations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

dentfol.io is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that published pages will generate any particular result or patient volume, or that any templates or compliance features are sufficient for your legal or regulatory obligations.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, dentfol.io and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or professional reputation, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. In no event will our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless dentfol.io and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right — including any claim relating to patient privacy, publication of photographs, or professional advertising rules.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We will post the revised version here with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice by email or in-app. Continuing to use dentfol.io after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

Subject to any non-waivable rights under applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and dentfol.io agree to exclusive venue in the state courts located in Montgomery County, Texas, or, when federal subject-matter jurisdiction exists, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division.
