HOW TO CONNECT

Start an FTP or implicit FTPS server

Open a compatible server on the device you want to transfer files to or from.

Note the IP address and port

The server app will display a local IP address and port number on screen (typically 21 for FTP or 990 for implicit FTPS).

Make sure you're on the same Wi-Fi

Your iPhone and the device must be connected to the same local network.

Enter the IP and port, then connect

Type the connection details into RetroFTP and tap Connect. You're in.

FAQ
What devices work with RetroFTP?
Any device running an FTP server on your local Wi-Fi network. This includes handheld game consoles, portable media players, home consoles, NAS drives, and computers running FTP server software.
Do I need to be on the same Wi-Fi network?
Yes. RetroFTP connects to FTP servers on your local network. Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
Which secure transfer protocols does RetroFTP support?
RetroFTP supports plain FTP and implicit FTPS/TLS, which encrypts the connection from the start and uses port 990 by default. It does not currently support SFTP or explicit FTPS (AUTH TLS).
Can I transfer files while the app is in the background?
Pro users can. Free users need to keep the app open during transfers. Upgrade to Pro for background transfer support.
Is RetroFTP affiliated with any console manufacturer?
No. RetroFTP is an independent FTP client and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any console manufacturer.
